About the Journal
The journal Análisis Geográficos is an annual technical and scientific publication edited by the Research and Foresight Directorate of the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute. Since its launch in 1982, it has been a key channel for disseminating the progress and results of IGAC’s projects and mission-driven activities, which are of great importance to the scientific and academic communities and other interested readers. The publication was founded when a group of researchers from IGAC’s Sub-Directorate of Geographic Research and Dissemination decided to share their findings with the scientific community. The first issues focused on studies in applied geography and regional geography in a report format. Beginning with issue 29, the journal underwent a redesign and shift in focus, expanding its scope to include research on geography and cartography, agrology, cadastral systems, territorial planning, remote sensing, geographic information systems, and related technologies, as well as spatial data infrastructures, all presented in the form of scientific articles.

La Revista Análisis Geográficos es una publicación de carácter técnico-científico y divulgativo, con periodicidad anual, del Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi. Desde su primer número, publicado en 1982, la revista es uno de los canales institucionales para difundir los avances y los resultados de los proyectos I+D+I y demás actividades misionales, pero también es un medio de divulgación abierto a toda la comunidad científica, académica y demás interesados del país y de la región, en torno de la información geográfica, cartográfica, agrológica, catastral, geodésica y las de tecnologías geoespaciales, en vista de su aplicación en los procesos de gestión del conocimiento, planificación y desarrollo integral de los territorios.
