Geographic Information System as an instrument in the progress of the Corpoguajira region

Abstract

Geographic Information Systems constitute a tool for the analysis and solution of issues in the anbiental area. This article describes the stages, activities and documents made in the design and development of the Geographic Inforamcion System for the Corporación Autónoma Regional de La Guajira - Corporguajira and the prove of the advantages in the ise of the spatial functionalities for the management of environmental information of the Department of La Guajira.
